During the therapy session, the client shares personal information that is confidential. For therapy to be successful, the patient should be truthful in their conversations with their therapists. Therapists should assure confidentiality and privilege ensures this. Privilege is the therapist’s responsibility despite the type of therapy; be it personal or group. Privilege also extends to the therapists’ notes on the patient, tests or raw data collected during therapy sessions (Corey et. al., 1998). Question #5 Race refers to an individual’s distinctive features such as skin tone, eye colour, bone structure and others. Ethnicity, on the other hand, refers to an individual’s cultural factors that define them. Ancestry, language, culture, beliefs and nationality are some of the factors that define one’s ethnicity (Duncan & Trejo, 2011). Both ethnicity and race enable individuals to identify with one another with either their physical or cultural similarities. The two are powerful factors that end up defining an individual’s life unbeknownst to them. People are stereotyped, by others, according to the two. Question #6 Culture, like race and ethnicity, defines individuals in society. Other defining factors of culture include values, notions of time, universal concepts, religions, hierarchies and many others (Duncan & Trejo, 2011). Other than the aforementioned factors, all cultures have symbols, language, rituals, heroes and values. Families, on the other hand, also have cultures that distinguish them from others. Family culture determines how a family forms itself, the rules, habits and roles of all family members. This culture is not unique as it is a derivative of the ethnic or racial society the family dwells in. Question #7 An individual’s sense of home is one of the factors that lead to their definition of self. A home, or family, provides an individual with certain elements that cannot be derived elsewhere. Firstly, an individual is a member of their home as they share the home with other family members. The home has boundaries that distinguish it from other homes. The boundaries make an individual feel safe and have a sense of belonging (McGoldrick & Hardy, 2008). People outside the boundaries are outsiders and are held in lower regard. The home serves as a place where the individual can experience emotional safety and reveal what they really feel.

The Vietnamese Youth Development Center - 1429 Words

Never have I been so wrong in judging the Vietnamese American community. In my mind, the â€Å"model-minority† myth has always been in place and completely stable. I never knew that a majority of Vietnamese American youth experienced gang-related violence, extreme poverty, numerous stereotypes, and even depression. I never knew how common all of these problems were within their community. In addition, their problems existed even within their own families through generational conflicts and cultural differences. These problems are real, and occur within real families, real communities. These problems are overlooked by almost everyone, and it saddened me that barely anyone bothered to address these problems. It was then, that I realized that I was part of the problem. I needed to be aware of what is going on around me, and what I have to do to help. I must analyze and address the problem. The Vietnamese Youth Development Center is an organization that provides assistance for refu gees and immigrants, typically low-income families. These youth are experiencing problems with their mental health, gang violence and racism, poverty, and problems with their familial relationships. The Vietnamese Youth Development Center helps to alleviate some of these struggles, and provides various programs that help with increasing awareness, remediating torn relationships, and educating. On Peut Se Tutoyer - French Expression Explained

Expression: On peut se tutoyer ?Pronunciation: [o(n) peu seu tu twa yay]Meaning: Can we use tu with each other?Register: informal Explanation French makes an important distinction between  tu, the informal you, and vous, the formal you. There are even verbs: tutoyer means to use tu and vouvoyer means to use vous. Deciding whether to use tu or vous can be difficult for non-native speakers, and then even when you do choose correctly, you sometimes need to make a switch. Thats where the French expression on peut se tutoyer comes in.Some situations, such as a meeting between friends of friends, are borderline. The French feel that maybe they should use vous but would prefer tu. In order to avoid offense, theyll ask on peut se tutoyer  ? Another common scenario occurs when you start out using vous with someone and eventually become friends — at some point youll want to make the switch to tu. Variations: Peut-on se tutoyer  ? Essay about My Childhood Home - 950 Words

The fleeting changes that often accompany seasonal transition are especially exasperated in a child’s mind, most notably when the cool crisp winds of fall signal the summer’s end approaching. The lazy routine I had adopted over several months spent frolicking in the cool blue chlorine soaked waters of my family’s bungalow colony pool gave way to changes far beyond the weather and textbooks. As the surrounding foliage changed in anticipation of colder months, so did my family. My mother’s stomach grew larger as she approached the final days of her pregnancy and in the closing hours of my eight’ summer my mother gently awoke me from the uncomfortable sleep of a long car ride to inform of a wonderful surprise. No longer would we be returning†¦show more content†¦I had violent, grass-stained war games with my neighborhood friends, while my mother worked in her small vegetable garden among the honeybees, and watched things grow. An ever-present warming smell of knishes and hot dogs permeated around every inch of my block as the nearby concession pumped a constant flow of fresh food to hungry little leaguers and their families. Looking up, the summer sky looked like an Easter egg God had dipped in blue dye. Those warm summer nights after long days of camp were greatly anticipated events back then. My cousin and I itched with repressed energy throughout the long bus ride from various tri-state area attractions. We couldn’t wait to get home and see what types of shenanigans we could get into. We couldn’t wait to slide down the steep, blue-carpeted staircase on our bottoms, and then on our stomachs. Most of all, we couldn’t wait to go down to the basement. The basement was better than a toy store. Yes, the old-fashioned milk chute in the kitchen wall was enchanting, and the laundry chute was fun because it was big enough to throw down my sisters stuffed companions, so my cousin could catch them below in the laundry room, as our voices echoed up and down the chute. But the basement was better than all of these, better even than sliding down those stairs on rug-burned bottoms. Subjectivity Of Justice Amongst Societies English Literature Essay Free Essays

Schlink efficaciously employs word picture through the supporter Michael Berg to exemplify the cardinal subjectiveness of different sorts of justness portrayed throughout history. As a reader we are presented with a German society where most persons were either involved or affected, both straight and indirectly by World War II. This is besides no exclusion with the life affecting Michael, with his male parent being expelled from his university talking station because of his bizarre doctrines which were against Hitler ‘s purposes. We will write a custom essay sample on Subjectivity Of Justice Amongst Societies English Literature Essay or any similar topic only for you Order Now Michael is portrayed as a naif kid raised in a society plagued with the load of war. While at his most guiltless point in his life, a vulnerable Michael begins a insouciant relationship with Hanna, a former SS guard at the Auschwitz concentration cantonment. From this Schlink highlights Michael ‘s exposures and how Hanna uses her laterality and mature temptingness to command Michael ‘s naif nature. Her actions are finally the cause of Michael ‘s development from an guiltless kid into an emotionless adult male which acts as a polar point in the development of the text ‘s major subjects. This is because Schlink so presents Michael ‘s narrative throughout the text as undependable, which is symbolic of the subjectiveness of justness amongst societies. In the tribunal tests sing Hanna, different events are retold as through the narrative an undependable recount is given which reiterates the subjectiveness of all versions of history which lead to justness. Th is is reiterated through Michael ‘s comments on his changeless cunctation and how they support Schlink ‘s usage of Michael ‘s undependability to portray the subjectiveness of justness, † But today I can acknowledge that events back so were portion of a life-long form in which thought and making have either come together or failed to come together-I think, I reach a decision, I turn the decision into a determination † From the finding of fact of the test, Schlink forces the reader to finally question justness through the tribunal system and one version of events warrants the harshest of all humane punishments. Although Hanna ‘s actions were inhumane, as a reader we are positioned through narrative to experience sympathetic and believe although her actions should n’t be condoned, as a reader we should oppugn who has the ultimate incrimination. This is done by sing who should be brought to justice more righteously, the caputs of evil governments, or their pawns bring downing enduring while non to the full being metaphorically illiterate to what is go oning. Schlink efficaciously uses symbolism to uncover the ignorance of the German people post the Nazi Regime and how the bequest of guilt still remains evident. This is particularly the instance through the symbolism casted by Schlink when associating to Hanna ‘s illiteracy. Throughout the bulk of the text it becomes progressively evident that Hanna is illiterate. This is first foreshadowed by Schlink one time Michael leaves a note which Hanna can non read, so in an effort decode it, she assumes it is about him go forthing and as a consequence she punishes him with her â€Å" leather supporter belt † to exert her authorization, cutting his lip in the procedure. It is so discovered she had resigned from several occupations due to frights of being incapable and society going aware of her illiteracy. In kernel her illiteracy is symbolic of the moral illiteracy of the German society and how the bequest of guilt remains. Although Hanna is illiterate, this does non needfully intend she is an invalid. Her function in the Nazi government was one forced by societal economic force per unit areas and was unable to grok the true badness of her actions. The German society mirrors her actions through the ignorance expressed throughout society. The moral illiteracy through ignorance becomes evident during the tribunal proceedings where Hanna is under scrutiny from the justice, and in an effort to warrant her actions she beckons to the justice â€Å" what would you hold done? † The justice is so baffled and moves on towards the following topic as she repeats the same inquiry momently after. Schlink illustrates Hanna ‘s illiteracy to symbolically stand for a true appraisal of an nescient Germany society, plagued with moral illiteracy that are unable to grok the agony felt by the Judaic people. As a reader we are so positioned to contemplate the inquiries associating to justness and disapprobation being presented to us by Schlink. It becomes evident that Sch link conveys the audience to be positioned to oppugn how a society can judge those who have done incorrect, while their ignorance has done nil to forestall or handle any farther wrong. Once once more Schlink uses symbolism to uncover how corporate guilt burdens an person. This is revealed through Hanna ‘s realization of her actions through the tribunal room and her clip in prison. Before her realization she led a life of illiteracy which so reflected her actions, nevertheless while in prison she was given hope by Michael for a new found life. This was done through the changeless sending of audio books recorded by Michael. Slowly Hanna began to understand literature and this is when she realised the full extent of her actions. Schlink portrays Hanna ‘s self-destruction as a agency of going free from the collective guilt which was placed onto her. Symbolically Schlink uses an old tea box to function as Hanna ‘s manner of seeking forgiveness to her lasting victim. Michael follows her concluding wants and finally travels trying to manus over the gift as a mark of Hanna ‘s forgiveness. The writer gracefully diminutions but is pleased to have a po rtion of the gift, a tea box which reminds her of one she one time possessed whilst in the cantonment. Schlink illustrates this minute as the sympathetic rapprochement scene where Hanna ‘s bequest is continued, with forgiveness sought. Project Executions Planning and Management †MyAssignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about the Project Executions Planning and Management. Answer: Introduction The existing Sydney motorway network project is undertaken by APIC CONSULT, which is an organization that works as a general contractor and project consultant for both the government and the private agencies. The project deals with the widening of the existing M4 Motorway as the current roads are insufficient for the growing demands. The new and the improved highway system that is proposed is expected to enhance the traffic management system by removing an estimated 4000 trucks a day from Parramatta road. These trucks will be routed underground that will in turn trigger the opportunity for the neighbourhood revitalization. As a consultant, EPIC CONSULT has taken up the project to advise the client about the best project delivery method and the financial contract type that will be suitable for this project. Since the project size is particularly huge, the project was undertaken by a joint venture company of all the three prime contractors associated with the project. The project is ex pected to be delivered by 2023. Since the size of the project is particularly huge, there are certain challenges associated with the project as well. . The following paragraphs discusses in detail, financial contract type, procurement method, the delivery method for the project (Akintoye, Goulding Zawdie, 2012). Since M4 widening is a construction project and is particularly complex, it is necessary to choose the proper project delivery system in order to ensure that the project is not delayed further. Choosing an accurate project delivery method is crucial as this method is used by the project or the contractor manager to organize and manage the different operations and services associated with the delivery of a project. The proposed project delivery method for the M$ widening projects includes Design Bid Built delivery system, Design build delivery system and CM at Risk project delivery system (Bilbo et al., 2015). In order understand which project delivery method will be suitable for the M4 Motorway Widening project, the characteristics of all the three project delivery methods and the evaluation criteria of the three project delivery method is represented in the following matrix. The project Delivery System Matrix Criteria/ Goals Criteria Weight Project delivery system Method 1: Design Build Method 2: Design bid Build Method 3: CM at Risk Score Weighted Score Score Weighted Score Score Weighted Score 1. The Project is needed to be completed within 2023 20 3 60 4 80 8 160 2. More than 140000 vehicles should be kept moving through the project corridor during project implementation 30 5 150 6 240 3 180 3. A first track schedule is to be maintained 20 4 80 6 120 8 160 4. The project is to be implemented in a controlling cost environment 30 7 210 8 240 4 120 100 --- 500 ----- 680 -- 620 Table 1: Representing the Project delivery matrix By analysing the results of the project delivery matrix mentioned above, it is found out that the design bid build method will be appropriate for successful implementation of the project within the allocated time. The assumptions associated with the selection of the design bid contract are as follows- Assumptions: In design bid build project delivery system, different entities are responsible for designing and building the project, which is similar to the case of M4 motorway development. Therefore, it is assumed that this contract will be appropriate to consider for the project (Xia et al., 2014). It is assumed that the separate phase of designing and bidding will not take more than the expected time. It is assumed that the project progress report will be regularly communicated to the two consulting companies, which are Larson and Sons and McCartney Inc (Porwal Hewage, 2013). Since WestLINK has somehow became fairly detached from the project and is responsible for performing only the brief reviews associated with the project, it is assumed that the separate designer and the builder in the design bid build project delivery method will look after the quality of the project. In order to evaluate the best project delivery method for M4 Motorway Widening project, a project delivery matrix is prepared, where each of the three project delivery methods is evaluated on basis of certain criteria (Pishdad-Bozorgi de la Garza, 2012). The importance and the significance of each of the project delivery methods is analysed on basis of the weight and importance of the criteria on basis of which is judged. There are certain challenges associated with the project, which needs to be eliminated in order to successfully implement the project. The criteria for choosing the best project delivery method have been set on basis of the challenges that the project might encounter (Minchin Jr et al., 2013). The project delivery method that will be able to eliminate those risk and limitation associated with the project will be chosen. The first criterion of choosing the best project delivery method is that the Project is needed to be completed within 2023. This criterion is assigned a weight of 20 as it is fairly important to finish the project in the given time and the motorway cannot be kept engaed for long time. The second criterion of choosing the best project delivery method is that More than 140000 vehicles should be kept moving through the project corridor during project implementation. This is one of the most important criteria for selection of the project delivery method and is assigned a weight of 30. This criterion is important and has been assigned a higher weight since the project cannot disrupt the normal operation of the motorway. In the table the design bid build contract gets a score of 6 against this criterion as in the bid phase, WestLink can easily choose the builder who will assure normal operation of the motorway in the project implementation stage (Kerzner Kerzner, 2017). The third Criterion of choosing the best project delivery method is that a first track schedule is to be maintained. This is again a major criterion of evaluation of the project as the project work will be performed in one of the vital parts of the city and is therefore expected to disrupt the normal operation of the project site to a great extent (Ilozor Kelly, 2012). Therefore, this criterion is allocated a weight of 20 and the design bid build project delivery method gets a score of 6 in this as in this project delivery method, the builder aims at finishing the project in the time allocated for a particular project. The last criterion, on basis of which the project delivery method is evaluated is that the project is to be implemented in a controlling cost environment. This is one of the most significant criteria for evaluating the best project delivery method and therefore is allocated a weight of 30. The design bid build contract gets a score of 8 against this criterion as separate contractors are responsible for managing the designing and the building phase of the project, which indicates that a proper control and monitoring procedure of the project will be implemented during the project execution. Table 1 represents the allocated score of design bid build contract against the criteria selected for evaluation of the best project delivery method. The design bid build project delivery system on an average gets a higher score in all the categories in comparison to design build and CM at risk Contract type and therefore, design bid build contract is chosen for the project. In criterion 1, the design bid built contract gets a considerably lower score than CM at risk since CM at risk type of project delivery system has the highest rate of timely completion of the project (Park et al., 2015). In criterion two, the design bid build type of project delivery system gets a greater score in comparison to the other two methods as in the bidding phase, the project owner can easily choose the builder that satisfies this project criteria. Similar is the case of the last two criteria since in the design bid build project delivery system, the project owner has the option to choose the best build er and project implementation technique for the project. The Financial Contract type Criteria/ Goals Criteria Weight Financial Contract Type Method 1: Lump Sum Contract Method 2: Guaranteed Maximum Price Contract Method 3: Cost Plus Free Contract Score Weighted Score Score Weighted Score Score Weighted Score 1. The project needs to be completed within the allocated budget. There should be no or very little scope of budget revision or cost revision in the implementation of the project. 30 8 240 7 210 4 120 2. Ensuring proper safety is included in the budget 20 5 100 6 120 7 140 3. A concessional funding is committed to the project so that WestLINK can deliver the project in 2 stages. This funding cannot be revised in the later stage of the project 20 6 120 7 140 4 80 4. The project is to be implemented in a cost controlled environment 30 6 180 8 240 5 150 100 ---- 640 ----- 710 490 Table 2: Representing Financial Contract Type By analysing the data obtained from the financial contract type matrix, it is found out that the guaranteed maximum price contract will be best financial contract type for the Widening of the M4 Motorway project. The assumptions for choosing this type of financial contract is represented below- The financial contract type aligns with the chosen project delivery method. The financial contract chosen at the beginning of the project cannot be change in the later stages of the project. The project is expected to undergo no budget revision. Justification for the Criteria Chosen and the criterion weight allocated: The best financial contract type chosen for the M4 Motorway widening project is based on the certain criteria that are identified for the project (Gransberg, 2013). The first criterion that is chosen for evaluating the best financial contract type associated with the project is that the project needs to be completed within the allocated budget. There should be no or very little scope of budget revision or cost revision in the implementation of the project. This is an important criterion associated with the project and is therefore allocated a weight of 30. The second criterion that is chosen for evaluating the best financial contract type associated with the project is that workers safety is to be ensured and the safety requirements should be an important criterion for the contract. Therefore, this criterion is allocated a weight of 20 for identifying the best financial contract for the project. The third criterion, criterion that is chosen for evaluating the best financial contract type associated with the project is that the funding cannot be revised in the later stage of the project. This criterion is allocated a weight of 20 as financial contract to be chosen largely depends on the budget allocated. The last criterion is equally important and therefore allocated a weight of 30. In table 2, the guaranteed maximum price contract on an average gets higher score than the other two contract methods as in guaranteed maximum price contract; a contractor is responsible for the actual cost incurred for the project. Therefore, the contractor while taking the contract can be made to abide by the important criteria that are set for the project (Brook, 2012). Therefore, the guaranteed maximum price contract will be the accurate financial contract for the M4 motorway widening project. Conclusion Therefore, from the above the discussion it can be concluded that the M4 motorway widening project can be implemented within the time allocated by following a design bid build project delivery system. The delivery system is chosen for the project by evaluating certain important criteria for selection of the project delivery method. In order to choose the adequate financial contract type, certain important project criteria are evaluated. Use of a proper project delivery system and financial contract type is essential in order to ensure project success. References Akintoye, A., Goulding, J. S., Zawdie, G. Star Wars The Plot Analysis Essay Example For Students

Star Wars The Plot Analysis Essay The plot is very easy to understand. Every event linked to another and there were no random actions. The characters are well thought up and the movie takes place in a cool place. The movie has the universal theme of good vs.. Bad. Each side has one main good guy and one main bad guy. The plot may not be very complex, but is very easy to understand. Having the said the plot isnt very complex, it still has some semi-dramatic parts. Like most movies this movie has the good side in some sort of problem and gets fÃ'›paved at the very last second with a victory shortly following, which would seem reasonable because most people would prefer the good side to win. Star wars has an ending that would satisfy most viewers. The last and very best part of the movie is the props and technology. It seems that Star Wars has more plopped props and stage setting than the movie itself. Which is important because the movie is mostly visual naively. The sound effects are also very well developed The plot for star wars may not be that great, but seeing Star Wars just for the visual is well worth while. Overall, Star Wars is a good movie and has done a good job for other movies to follow And even though there are movies now that are way better than Star Wars, Star Wars will always be the first and possibly it Will never be forgotten.
